Brie Weldon
Brie is a corporate security professional with 10+ years’ experience as a practitioner of duty of care. Spanning multiple security disciplines across the pharmaceutical industry, she began her Travel Risk Management career in 2017, specializing in executive protection for high-risk destinations, secure journey management operations, and meeting security compliance.
Brie’s security career began in 2014 with Securitas USA as a consultant for Alexion Pharmaceuticals, under the guard force scope. From 2015-2017, she held imbedded consultant roles in access control, intelligence, and security program administration, respectively under their GSOC remit. In late 2017, Brie transitioned to Alexion Pharmaceuticals as an employee, fulfilling a Travel Risk Management role, building a team dedicated to addressing inherent travel risks.
In 2021, Alexion Pharmaceuticals was acquired by AstraZeneca. Since acquisition, Brie transitioned to a corporate security role focused on Travel Risk Management strategy, planning, and deployment.
She currently leads the Travel Risk Management Team for AstraZeneca, under the Global Security remit, and holds multiple certifications in accordance with the ISO-31030 Standard.
Brie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice & Human Security from the University of Bridgeport (Connecticut, 2014) with minors in Political Science, World Religions, Modern Languages, and History; with a focus on International Politics, Economics, and Diplomacy (IPED).
