Michael D. Reiner, CPP, is the Assistant Vice President of Public Safety at Creighton University. He retired from the US Air Force as a colonel after serving for over 25 years as a Security Forces officer. During his career, Reiner commanded an air base group, three Security Forces squadrons, and a cadet squadron at the US Air Force Academy, and deployed in support of Operations SUPPORT JUSTICE IV, IRAQI FREEDOM, and RESOLUTE SUPPORT. He transitioned to the private sector to assume his current role, protecting a community of over 10,000 students, faculty, and staff who live, learn, and play on a 130-acre university campus in the heart of Omaha, Nebraska, and a separate health sciences campus in Phoenix, Arizona. Reiner holds a bachelor’s degree in astronautical engineering and master’s degrees in criminal justice, strategic intelligence, and strategic studies. He served on the Military Liaison Council and Military Liaison Community Steering Committee from 2016-2021 and as Chapter Chair of the Omaha Heartland Chapter from 2020-2021. In 2023, he returned to the MLC Steering Committee as Chair of the Content Development Sub-Committee.
